History

The first book ever printed in Portugal was produced in Faro in 1487 by Samuel Gacon. It was a religious work called “Pentateuch.” The only known copy of the first edition is on display at the British Library in London.
It was taken by Francis Drake when his army sacked the city in the late 16th century.

What Francis Drake did not know was the importance of a loose sheet hidden in the book. A manuscript that allowed the population to escape when the city was attacked or surrounded.

Amidst the cannon smoke and the chaos in the streets, an object of incalculable value has been taken aboard the ship of the feared privateer Francis Drake.

The vessel prepares to set sail.

But there is hope.

Secret information indicates that the stolen book remains locked in the privateer's personal cabin. A space reserved only for his maps, secrets, codes, and most valuable treasures.

You are the last team capable of acting.

They have 60 minutes before the ship weighs anchor.

During Francis Drake's attack on the city of Faro in the 16th century, the guardian lost the key that allowed the population to escape from the city.

The population is now trapped in an underground tunnel, one of the city's best-kept secrets.

It is said that centuries ago, a guardian hid a mysterious symbol in the city.

It did not hide it in vaults or behind walls, but in the streets, stones, and stories of Loulé.

Today, the echo of this secret has returned. And only those who venture through the city streets, decipher riddles, and follow forgotten clues will be able to discover what remains hidden in the heart of Loulé.

The game is available in Portuguese and English.

Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled time for a brief introduction to the game.

The game requires only reasoning and skill, and the use of force is inappropriate.

Participants must not misuse game objects in a way that could cause damage to the space or to the participants themselves.

During the game, no objects other than those provided in the game area may be used. Participants will be asked to leave their personal belongings in a secure location at reception.

-> Each game will be monitored via the internal video circuit.

Given the nature of the game, participants will be locked inside a setting designed for this purpose.

However, the space will be opened immediately if requested or in case of necessity or emergency.

Participants may contact the Faro Escape Game representative supervising the game (room master) at any time.

Participants must follow the room master's instructions.
